Welcome!

Hello! And welcome to my blog! My name is Ellen. I have long been deliberating starting my own blog, and have finally plucked up the courage to do so. I suppose you want to know a bit about me. Well, I am 16 years old, currently enrolled in college, year 12, studying English language and literature, media and politics as A-levels. My hobbies include writing, baking and now blogging! I love Disney, but I’m not sure if that counts as a hobby! I have to admit that I’m rather nervous to start this blog. I have been weighing up the pros and cons for a little while now, and nearly went for it about six months ago, but didn’t as I was worried I would be boring or run out of post ideas. But I have decided that now is the time, and my inspiration comes from making plans for my future. I hope to study English at university, and figured; what better way to make my application stand out than by discussing my blog? Hence, Ellen G Blogs is born (I wanted to call it 'Ellen Blogs' but the URL was already taken!) I decided to go for a simple name, and also my actual name doesn’t have a nice ring to it. My blog will feature many niches; however it’ll mostly be lifestyle. I intend to include a few recipes here and there too, along with the odd fashion and beauty post. The first few posts on my blog aim to help people, especially young people like myself, with tips and tricks for college applications, job applications and prom. Having experienced these myself, I intend to provide help to any young people struggling with their college application, job application, personal statement, CV and choosing their look for prom, which is closer than you think! I think I had already chosen my dress this time last year. My intention is to upload blog posts every Sunday; however the exact timing may not be consistent as when I write will depend on how busy I’ve been at school during the week. My first official post will be up next Sunday, 4^th February, and will give you the chance to get to know me a bit better!
